It's time to get the term in high gear with the first big statewide event of the year: the annual State Master Councilor's Reception. This year the reception was held on September 8 at the Yaarab Shrine Center in Atlanta.
As always the unique architecture of the Shrine Center makes for a wonderful setting as members of other Masonic organizations and friends come to join in the festivities.
And of course, being in the middle of the biggest city in the southeast is quite exciting. What a view!

If we didn't know any better we might mistake this well-dressed occasion for a classic Hollywood Awards Night.

This term is all about "New." The State Master Councilor was very creative and instead of using a traditional guest book, he had those who attended sign a picture for him that he could cherish for many years to come.
Mountain Park Chapter's sponsoring body, Mountain Park Lodge #729, supplied the food for the evening, and quite a spread it was!
State Master Councilor Richie Eells's fun symbol for this term is Bugs Bunny. The cake says it all!
The ladies of Mountain Park Eastern Star kindly donated and served the drinks. They really hit the spot after a long stretch of dancing!
Members of Knighthood give their highest honor, the Arch of Steel, for the State Officers to walk through as they are introduced.
After much anticipation, State Master Councilor Richie Eells is introduced. We look forward to what this young man has to offer to Georgia DeMolay this term. The future is bright, indeed!
