SMC Reception 2001 PhotosNow for the drawing! Guests donated money for raffle tickets to win a dance with the State Officers, State Officials and Sweethearts. All of the proceeds went into the bucket to be sent to the Red Cross for the victims of the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001.
Justin pulls the winning ticket for his dance partner as anxious ladies hold their tickets and their breaths!
The young lady with the winning ticket enjoys a special dance with the State Master Councilor.
"What?" Jon laments. "These are all the tickets for Perry Bennett, State Marshal? Surely there is some mistake!"
"No mistake!" says this lucky lady. "I won this dance fair and square!"
Even Dad Bohn offers a dance for the cause. "These young ladies are teaching me some great new steps!" he exclaims.
"Look what a big fish I caught!" this lucky young lady boasts as she wins a dance with the State Chapter Dad, Mike Riley.
After three numbers are pulled from the hat and called with no responses, poor Dad Russ Nobles pleas for some pretty lady to come dance with him.
In a generous act of graciousness, State Sweetheart, Dawn Human, performs a "Human-a-tarian" act and rescues the ego of the wounded Samuel S. Lawrence Chapter Dad and father of the State Master Councilor by volunteering to dance with him. "I planned it this way from the beginning!" says a grinning Dad Nobles.
Mom Smith cried out with glee when she won a dance with State Senior Councilor, Mike Riley. "It's not fair for all the young girls to have all the fun!" she exclaimed.
Michael Griggers, Clayton Chapter, gets a special solo dance with Dawn Human for being the evening's biggest contributor to the Red Cross fund raiser. Don't go yet! Three State Officers lose their hair to the Bikes 4 Kids project on the next page! Surf on ....
