SMC Reception 2001 PhotosThe State Master Councilor's Reception is a celebration of a new beginning for Georgia DeMolay. A new slate of officers step up to the plate to provide leadership for the coming year. It is a time of high expectations and getting the word out about the State Master Councilor's program. It is also a festive occasion and Jon's music is just the trick to to get it going.
The Electric Slide can always be counted upon to get everyone on the dance floor.
DJ Jon Challen has grown up with DeMolay, a few minutes of his non-stop music and the guys lose the coats and the gals lose the shoes. The caterer was kept busy refilling the punch bowl once Jon cranked up the beat!
Just in time to keep everyone from collapsing from exhaustion, the music slows and Amanda, Michael, Krystal and Alex decide that they will be less likely to fall down if the four of them slow dance together.
Georgia DeMolay can really draw the most famous people around. Tom Cruise dropped by to show his support for this wonderful organization. (That is Tom, isn't is? Well, it kinda looks like his younger brother, doesn't it?)
But oh .... those summer nights! Snap went the camera on the word "nights" in the Grease tune. Justin, Perry, Dawn, Mike and Chris show how true State Officer teamwork works in a spirited delivery of the popular show tune.
Geoff has finally gotten enough height on him to look down into Dawn's eyes, and pretty eyes they are too!
These two were found outside milling about in the hallway away from the crowd. When queried about their purposes, Brian explained that he had just been Invested with Knightly Honors in the State Priory of Georgia, Order of Knighthood, earlier that afternoon. He stated that he was trying to impress a beautiful damsel, the lovely Jodie Bennett, and he would be at her service should she ever find herself in distress. The inquiring Advisor found the response so clever, that he retorted, "Onward, Sir Knight!"
Decisions, decisions. Wonder who Cason Cantrell, Mountain Park Sweetheart, will give the next dance to?
Fun was had by all as the night waned on, but a good cause needed collections. It was time for the fund raising. See the next page to learn how over $800 was collected for the Red Cross to help the victims of the attack on America....
