A Georgia DeMolay star was shining brightly on the DeMolay International scene as our native
son Christopher G. Eells presided over the 38th International Congress Session in Orlando, Florida on
June 16-19, 2005. Chris is a member of Mountain Park Chapter and was the first elected International Officer
ever to serve from Georgia.

Everyone arriving early on Wednesday was treated with a trip to Universal Studios. In addition
to Chris, Georgia's official delegation consisted of State Master Councilor Julius Moody and State Senior
Councilor Michael Griggers. Other State Officers from Georgia were State Junior Councilor, Geoff Bard;
State Marshall Richie Eells; State Senior Deacon, Todd Stovall; and State Junior Deacon, Stephen Bohn.
Peter Bard and Nicholas Bohn also attended.
Advisors in attendance were State Executive Officer and Active ISC Member Marc Bohn and his
wife Jane; Active ISC Member Dad Andy Lovas and his wife Margaret; Active ISC Member Bill Carver and his wife
Linda; Deputy ISC Member Dad Larry Griggers; Deputy ISC Member Dana Schwarz and his wife Pat; State Chapter
Dad Jim Bard; Mountain Park Advisor Dad Jim Stovall. From Chris' family were Mountain Park Advisor Greg
Eells and his wife Cindy and Chris' maternal Grandmother Vickie Conklin.

It is hot outside and the long wait for the ride is not bad inside this cool cave.

Boy, these park guys are strict! Poor Richie tried to break in line and look where
it got him!

Universal Studios Theme Park has a wonderful atmosphere and was a lot of fun. Prepare
for long waits, however, since a lot of other people feel the same way.

The Green Goblin is not too happy that Dad Griggers upchucked on him during the
Spiderman ride. (He was a white goblin before the unfortunate incident!)

On to the Congress session. Georgia had been well represented on the DeMolay International
scene before when Adam Roof, another DeMolay from Mountain Park, was appointed the 34th International
Congress Secretary after the elected ICS was unable to serve. Chris credited Adam with inspiring him to
run for the top post in 2004.

Chris represented Georgia and DeMolay International well this year traveling over 80,000
miles on behalf of DeMolays. He made countless friends and connections throughout his travels and truly
enjoyed the opportunity to serve his brothers from around the world. As incoming Grand Master Jeff Chretien
remarked, "Chris was an outstanding International Master Councilor and we are all proud of what he
and DeMolay International accomplished this past year under his leadership."

Brother Eells, International Congress Secretary Guillermo Gonzalez, and Richie Eells pose
for the camera. Chris afforded his younger brother a great honor when he appointed him the Congress
Marshal for the 38th International Congress.

During the 38th International Congress Session, the delegates elected Brother Steven Ashman
of New Jersey (right) to the office of the 39th International Master Councilor, and Brother Matt Ross
(left), of British Columbia, Canada, as the 39th International Congress Secretary, marking the first time
a DeMolay from outside the United States had been elected as an international officer. Dad Jeff Chretien
of Utah was elected the 74th Grand Master of the International Supreme Council.

Dad Eells is one proud papa to have his sons playing such an important role in DeMolay
International. He feels like one of the officers himself and, with the permission of the Congress
Secretary, sees what it is like to have an impressive name tag in front of you.
