Christopher G. Eells, Past Master Councilor of Mountain Park Chapter, State Master Councilor of Georgia, arises to become the 38th International Master Councilor of the Order of DeMolay.
The transfer of power is complete as Past IMC Brusoe presents the gavel of authority to the new IMC.
Chris was obviously humbled by his new office and promised those assembled that he would do all within his power to live up to the high honor they had bestowed upon him.
Quite a different and larger audience than Chris was accustomed to in Georgia, but he rose to the occassion and received spirited applause from the supportive assembly.
Gregory L. Kimberling from Idaho takes his oath of office and is installed as the new Grand Master of DeMolay for the ensuing year.
Chris and "G" pose with the Region Coordinators from all over the country. In another first, Matthew Douglas Ross, a delegate from British Columbia, Canada, was sworn in to become the Region VIII Coordinator and the first Region Coordinator to serve that was not a US citizen, further underscoring the fact that DeMolay is truly an international organization.
"G" and Chris pose with Michael S. Cueva, the International Congress Advisor (somewhat like an International Chapter Dad). Mike is from New Jersey and was the 31st International Master Councilor.
One can just imagine the pride Dad Eells must feel for his son right now. It sure shows on his face.
"Lookout world, here he comes!" Dad Bohn and State Chapter Dad Larry Griggers are eager to launch Chris in his new adventure.
The Georgia delegation are beaming. Everyone pledged to be there for Chris and support him in all his endeavors. There will be many challenges ahead, many travels and many speeches. He will meet new friends from around the world.
At the 2000 Tournament of Champions, few could have predicted that the zany 14-year old (on the right in the picture above with Clayton Chapter member Jonathan Canada on the left) would someday wear the collar of an International Master Councilor.
