Samuel S. Lawrence Chapter Donates Record Amount to Food Drive
MARIETTA, GA - It began with Past State Sweetheart Jodie Bennett's project and since then, the
annual canned food drive for MUST ministries has become a tradition at Samuel S. Lawrence Chapter.
Back in 2000, Jodie Bennett held a statewide canned food drive. Being her home chapter, Samuel
S. Lawrence Chapter eagerly showed their support that year by collecting over 900 cans of food
and donating them to MUST ministries in Marietta. The project has been repeated almost every year
since, and this year the Chapter received a record amount of food. Over 1200 cans to help feed
the hungry in Cobb County as the holidays approach were able to be donated this year. Said MUST
food bank director Carrie Mize, "This is such a great group of young people, and since you have been
involved with us, we keep tabs on you through your newspaper articles. We are proud to be associated
with such a great organization."
