Jacob Somers, a member of Samuel S. Lawrence Chapter in Marietta,
was selected as the Georgia DeMolay Online "DeMolay of the Month" for May
2007. He is currently the Senior Councilor of his chapter.
We sat down with Jacob to learn a little more about him....
GDO:
Jacob, congratulations on your selection as GDO's May DeMolay of the Month.
We want our web site visitors to learn a little more about you and your DeMolay
career. How did you find out about and get involved with DeMolay?
Jacob:
I found out from my Dad because he was in DeMolay, and I guess he looked up some information about DeMolay.
Then me and my brother talked to Geoff bard and Dad Jim Bard about what we did in DeMolay.
GDO:
What do you like best about DeMolay?

Jacob cuts a rug with a beautiful young lady. |
Jacob:
I like how we get to meet new people from around the state and how we have so many fun events.
Also I like it because it teaches you to be responsible and how it is like in the real world.
GDO:
You're currently Senior Counselor of Samuel S. Lawrence Chapter, one of the strongest chapters in
the state. What are your specific duties in that office?
Jacob:
The specific duties of this office are to come up with fund raisers that help raise money for our chapter.
GDO:
Once you reach Master Counsilor in your chapter, what are your plans?
Jacob:
I would like to become a State Officer and run through the line and maybe become State Master Counsilor.
GDO:
What are your goals for your future in DeMolay?
Jacob:
I would like to meet more chapters and become a Senior DeMolay and become a Dad of a Chapter.

Jacob is presented with an award at TOC.

GDO:
Outside of DeMolay, what are some of your other interests and activities?
Jacob:
I like to play video games, of course. I like soccer, swimming, mountain biking, running, skating,
and also seeing how electronical stuff works.
GDO:
Thank you for your time, Jacob, and congratulations again on your selection as GDO's
DeMolay of the Month!
Jacob:
Thank you very much.
